Sha'Carri Richardson, hailing from Dallas, will be competing in Paris this Friday.
While she’s known for her impressive speed, she has a passion for food too. Recently, a video surfaced on social media where Sha'Carri enthusiastically shares her favorite local eats when she’s in Dallas.
When it comes to burgers, she recommends Blackjack Pizza & Burgers at 2536 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
What sets their burgers apart?
Owner Terry Jones explains that the patties are handcrafted -- no measuring tools involved -- and are served with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and onions on a toasted bun.
"Ever since she gave that shout-out, we’ve had a noticeable increase in customers mentioning it. They say, 'Did you hear what she said about us?' and I reply, 'Absolutely,'” Jones said.
For a post-workout snack, Sha'Carri enjoys chicken tenders from Golden
When it comes to pizza, she prefers a slice from Big-T Plaza in Oak Cliff.
“If you know, you know Dallas!” Sha’Carri exclaimed in her hometown tour video.
And can you really claim to be from Dallas without mentioning Fuel City tacos?
Those are her go-to, especially when she’s craving something specific.
“That’s the place,” she shared.
Despite Sha’Carri's enthusiasm for Fuel City tacos, CEO Joseph Bickham says he’s an even bigger admirer of her talent.
“And even when she’s on the far side of the globe, she reminisces about friends, family, and Fuel City,” Bickham mentioned.
Next time Sha’Carri visits, he insists the tacos are on him.
For the fastest woman on the planet, the dilemma isn't what to indulge in, but what to skip.
“There are so many delicious options, so I have to pace myself every time I'm back home,” Sha’Carri
Richardson opts for Golden Chick when craving chicken tenders. Established near Austin in 1967, the chain is now based in Richardson and boasts over 200 locations throughout the southern U.S.
She also highlighted Big T Plaza in Oak Cliff as her go-to for a pizza slice. “If you know, you know Dallas,” she remarked.
Big T Plaza features a single-level shopping center with a variety of stores for apparel, jewelry, and hair braiding, situated off Village Fair Dr.
When it comes to burgers, Richardson favors Blackjack Pizza, which the Dallas Observer referred to as having “one of the most underrated burgers in Dallas.”
For tacos, her choice is Fuel City Tacos. Located just south of downtown on Riverfront Blvd., Fuel City serves quick and affordable street tacos.
“There are so many great options; that’s why I have to restrain myself when I’m back home,” Richardson noted.
She also named Carter High School as her “place to have a good cry.”
“If I’m home and want to unwind alone, I’ll head to my high school track,” Richardson shared. “I’ll return to my home track, sit there, reflect on my beginnings, and appreciate how far I’ve
